A statement issued by Ufone Spokesperson infrom that due to ongoing nationwide power outages may disrupt service delivery for Ufone customers. Frequent electricity cuts often lasting up to eight hours or more are affecting the telecom sector’s ability to provide uninterrupted services.
In urban areas, our telecom infrastructure is largely equipped with backup battery systems to maintain service continuity during power outages. However, these backup battery banks require at least three to four hours of uninterrupted electricity to fully charge. In the current situation, repeated power disruptions are hindering the charging process and reducing backup capacity at our cell sites.
Services are expected to return to normal once the electricity supply stabilizes.
