Hyderabad – U.S. Consul General Charles Goodman concluded a two-day visit to Hyderabad on September 2, meeting business leaders, government officials, entrepreneurs, and exchange program alumni to strengthen U.S.-Pakistan commercial ties, showcase American innovation, and mark the 250th anniversary of U.S. independence.
Trade and Investment
CG Goodman met with the Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Sindh Abadgar Board to discuss trade and investment in Hyderabad’s agricultural and industrial sectors, which span food processing, textiles, auto parts, and mineral resources including coal, marble, and gypsum.

In discussions with Hyderabad area animal feed producers who use animal feed technology from Siemens USA and Elanco USA technology, CG Goodman welcomed a new agreement streamlining fumigation requirements for soybean imports. Improving the efficiency of soybean imports into Pakistan to support Pakistan’s robust animal feed industry is in the best interests of both Pakistan and the United States.
Innovation and Exchange
During a visit to the National Incubation Center, CG Goodman discussed with technology leaders the demand for U.S. AI and agritech solutions. He also met with members of the Pakistan-U.S. Alumni Network Jamshoro Chapter who work in technology, agriculture, water resources, renewable energy, and education.
Celebrating 250 Years
CG Goodman inaugurated the Founders Museum at Lincoln Corner Hyderabad, a White House initiative celebrating America’s founding and 250 years of independence. The exhibit will travel to academic and cultural institutions across Sindh through December, introducing students and educators to America’s Founding Fathers and American values.
Echoing the words of President Trump, CG Goodman said, “Americans expanded the blessings of freedom, and we have never stopped expanding our ambitions and our dreams.”
Closing Engagements
CG Goodman met with Sindh Irrigation Minister Jam Khan Shoro to discuss irrigation, flood response, and U.S. investment. He also toured Colgate-Palmolive (Pakistan) Ltd., a multinational consumer-goods company established by the Lakson Group in 1977.
“American companies, technology, and investment are woven into the fabric of Pakistan’s economy,” CG Goodman said, reaffirming the U.S. commitment to expanding economic partnership and trade.
