Bioniks Expands Global Access to Prosthetic Technology

Karachi, August 28, 2026: Leonardo’s journey reflects the growing international reach of Bioniks, a Pakistani prosthetic technology startup. After losing his hand in a car accident in Tanzania, he searched for a functional prosthetic solution that could help him regain greater independence and confidence in daily life. That search brought him to Bioniks in Pakistan.

Leonardo is not the company’s first international client. Over the years, people from the United States, Ethiopia, Afghanistan, Greece, Mexico, and other countries have turned to Bioniks for prosthetic devices.

Their experiences show how Bioniks has grown from serving local communities to taking Pakistani innovation to a global audience. Its work is helping people with limb loss access functional technology designed to support mobility, independence, and a better quality of life.

The company’s journey began at the National Incubation Center Karachi, an initiative funded by Ignite National Technology Fund under the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication. Through its network of National Incubation Centers, Ignite helps technology entrepreneurs turn ideas into practical solutions, develop sustainable ventures and pursue opportunities in Pakistan and international markets.

Bioniks’ progress reflects Ignite’s vision of transforming Pakistan into a thriving knowledge economy where innovation and technology drive sustainable growth and global competitiveness. It also advances Ignite’s mission to strengthen Pakistan’s place in the global knowledge economy by supporting fourth industrial wave innovation, entrepreneurship, and solutions that address meaningful challenges.

Today, Bioniks is demonstrating that advanced prosthetic technology can be developed in Pakistan and delivered to people around the world. Its growing reach shows how Pakistani startups can combine social impact with global ambition, while presenting Pakistan as a source of practical and inclusive innovation.

“Bioniks is recognized among the Top 10 prosthetic companies globally, operating from Pakistan, and aims to bring advanced functional prosthetic technology not only to developing and underserved countries but also to developed countries where people still face significant difficulties accessing functional and affordable prosthetic solutions.”
