California: Meta, the company led by Mark Zuckerberg, has announced its latest AI model, which it says is faster and more capable of handling complex questions. The company added that its team developed the Muse Spark within nine months.
Meta described Muse Spark as its most powerful model to date. It is currently available on the Meta AI app and website, with plans to expand access in the coming weeks to WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, Messenger, and AI glasses. Selected partners will also be able to use it privately through an API.
Muse Spark has been developed in Meta’s Superintelligence Lab and is the first model in a new series of large language models (LLMs). It is designed to assist users across a wide range of fields, including science, mathematics, and healthcare, with strong capabilities in solving complex problems.
The model has been specifically optimized for Meta’s platforms and products. It aims to make Meta’s AI smarter and faster, with additional features to be introduced over time. These improvements are based on content shared and recommended by users across Instagram, Facebook, and Threads.
Through Muse Spark, users can receive instant responses and assistance with complex tasks. Meta AI can manage both functions, and users can switch between different “modes” depending on the nature of the task. To answer queries, Meta AI can simultaneously deploy multiple “sub-agents.” For example, if a user asks about a city tour, one agent may create a travel plan, another may suggest activities for children and adults, while a third compares tourism options in other cities—all operating concurrently.
