Speaking on the occasion, newly elected President Shabnam Zafar said that the strength of the national economy was directly linked to the promotion of business activities, increased industrial production and growth in exports. She said resolving the issues faced by the Khairpur business community and creating a conducive environment for businesses would be among her top priorities.
She said Khairpur had a significant position in agricultural production, particularly in date production and exports. However, to fully exploit the sector’s potential, special attention would have to be given to modern packaging, value addition, cold storage, quality processing and international marketing. The chamber would play an effective role in highlighting the problems faced by local businessmen and exporters before the relevant authorities and pursuing their resolution.
Shabnam Zafar further said that providing Khairpur’s traders and industrialists with greater access to domestic and international markets, export facilities, banking services and modern technology was the need of the hour. The chamber would work to strengthen coordination between the government and the business community, reduce the cost of doing business, promote exports and create new employment opportunities, thereby further integrating Khairpur’s economy with national economic development.
