All registered petrol pumps will now be required to provide details to the FBR regarding the petroleum products they purchase.
Islamabad: The federal government has handed over the authority to collect Petroleum Development Levy (PDL) and Climate Support Levy (CSL) imposed on petroleum products across the country to the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR). Following this decision, the FBR will collect these levies as an agent of the Ministry of Petroleum and the Petroleum Division.
According to a notification issued by the FBR, a mechanism for the collection of Petroleum Development Levy (PDL) has also been introduced. The FBR has issued a Domestic Sale Invoice (DSI) system for the collection of both CSL and PDL. Registered buyers of petroleum products will also be required to provide their details in accordance with the format prescribed by the FBR.
The notification stated that all registered dealers must provide their NTN numbers, computerized national identity card (CNIC) numbers, names, nature of purchase, and relevant documents including HS codes, date, nature of sale, quantity sold in liters, and sale value. Dealers will also have to disclose the rate and total amount of Petroleum Development Levy and Climate Support Levy collected on the petroleum products sold.
