Mari Energies Signs Strategic Agreements with Fertilizer Giants to Boost Gas Supply in Pakistan

PEF project at Daharki to enhance pipeline capacity and ensure stable gas delivery

Move expected to strengthen urea production and support national food security

ISLAMABAD: Mari Energies Limited has signed multiple agreements with leading fertilizer manufacturers to enhance gas supply infrastructure, marking a significant step toward strengthening Pakistan’s energy and agricultural sectors.

According to a notification submitted to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the company has entered into agreements with Fauji Fertilizer Company Limited, Engro Fertilizers Limited, and Fatima Fertilizer Company Limited for the development of Pressure Enhancement Facilities (PEF) at Daharki, Sindh.

The PEF project focuses on debottlenecking gas pipelines and installing compression facilities across the gas gathering network. This will help maintain optimal pressure levels from the Habib Rahi Limestone (HRL) reservoir and ensure uninterrupted gas supply to fertilizer plants.

Industry experts say the initiative is crucial for extending the production plateau of domestic gas reserves while improving efficiency in transmission infrastructure. The project is also expected to secure long-term gas availability for fertilizer producers, directly supporting urea output across the country.

Mari Energies, one of Pakistan’s largest exploration and production companies, plays a key role in supplying natural gas to the fertilizer sector, power producers, and industrial users.

The collaboration reflects a broader effort to reduce reliance on imported energy and stabilize agricultural inputs. By ensuring consistent indigenous gas supplies, the initiative is likely to contribute significantly to food security and economic stability.
