REAP Trade Delegation Strengthens Pakistan–China Rice Trade During High-Level Engagements in Beijing

The Rice Exporters Association of Pakistan (REAP) Trade Delegation continued its successful trade promotion mission in China with a series of high-level meetings and business engagements in Beijing, aimed at further strengthening bilateral cooperation and expanding Pakistan’s rice exports to the Chinese market.

The delegation, led by Mr. Muhammad Jawed Jillani, held a productive meeting with H.E. Khalil Hashmi, Ambassador of Pakistan to China, to discuss strategies for enhancing Pakistan–China rice trade, improving market access, and fostering stronger commercial relations between Pakistani exporters and Chinese importers. The Ambassador reaffirmed the Embassy’s continued support in promoting Pakistani rice and facilitating greater business collaboration between the two countries.

The Embassy of Pakistan in Beijing also organized a series of Business-to-Business (B2B) meetings between REAP delegates and leading Chinese rice companies. These meetings provided an excellent opportunity for Pakistani exporters to showcase the premium quality of Pakistani rice, explore new business prospects, and strengthen long-term partnerships with Chinese buyers.

A highlight of the visit was the Pakistan Rice Seminar, jointly organized by the China National Association of Grain Sector (CNAGS). The seminar brought together senior representatives of China’s grain and rice industry, including Mr. Pan Xichun, Vice President & Secretary General of CNAGS and Vice President of COFCO Group, Mr. Zhang Xuejun, Vice Secretary General of CNAGS and Deputy General Manager of COFCO Grain Company, along with a large number of Chinese rice importers, traders, and industry stakeholders.

The seminar served as an important platform to promote Pakistan’s premium-quality rice, highlighting its exceptional taste, quality, and reliability. Following the seminar, extensive B2B meetings were held between REAP delegates and Chinese importers to discuss potential business collaborations and future trade opportunities.

Addressing the seminar, Mr. Muhammad Jawed Jillani, Leader of the REAP Delegation, emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to producing and exporting rice that meets the highest international standards. He noted that Pakistan’s rice industry remains dedicated to ensuring a reliable supply of premium-quality rice to global markets, particularly China, and expressed confidence that the ongoing engagements would significantly contribute to enhancing bilateral trade and strengthening long-term commercial partnerships.

As a gesture of friendship and goodwill, Mr. Muhammad Jawed Jillani, Mr. Rafique Suleman, Mr. Mahesh Kumar, and other members of the delegation presented REAP commemorative shields to H.E. Khalil Hashmi, Ambassador of Pakistan to China, and senior representatives of CNAGS and Chinese business partners. The exchange reflected the enduring friendship between Pakistan and China and reaffirmed the mutual commitment to expanding cooperation between the rice industries of both countries.
