HUTCHISON PORTS BEST inaugurates the new Navarra Intermodal Terminal, a strategic boost for competitiveness and sustainable logistics

HUTCHISON PORTS BEST today officially inaugurated the new Navarra Intermodal Terminal (TIN), a strategic infrastructure project for the economic and logistics development of the Foral Community of Navarra. The terminal will help promote rail freight transport, strengthen business competitiveness, and advance a more sustainable supply chain.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by the President of the Government of Navarra, Ms. María Victoria Chivite Navascués; Ms. Elena González Gómez, General Director of Passenger Transport and Business Development at ADIF; Mr. José Alberto Carbonell, President of the Port of Barcelona; as well as distinguished representatives from the Government of Navarra, the Spanish Government Delegation in Navarra, the Navarra Business Confederation, the Navarra Chamber of Commerce, the Council of Quirós, the Town Council of Noáin, and various institutional and business representatives, including Clemence Cheng, Managing Director of Hutchison Port Holdings Europe.

The inauguration marks the completion of the terminal’s expansion and modernization programme launched by HUTCHISON PORTS BEST following the award of the concession by ADIF in 2024. The project represents an investment of more than €10 million and has received support from the European Union’s NextGeneration funds.

As a result of this project, the Navarra Intermodal Terminal has tripled its operational capacity to 42,000 square metres, adding two new 550-metre rail tracks and a new operational yard dedicated to rail activities and container storage.

During the event, Pablo García, Director of Navarra Intermodal Terminal and Synergy, Hutchison Ports BEST’ rail operator; stated:

“This investment represents a strong commitment to Navarra for the coming decades. The expansion of the terminal will allow us to continue supporting the growth of companies across the region and consolidate a logistics infrastructure capable of enhancing their competitiveness in international markets. At the Navarra Intermodal Terminal, we will continue working to foster the region’s economic and industrial development by offering increasingly efficient, reliable and sustainable solutions.”
