Pakistan Airport Authority Will Built Greenfield Airport Sukkhur

Sukkhur – The Kick-off Meeting for the Feasibility Study, Master Planning, and Detailed Design Services of the proposed Greenfield Airport at Sukkur was successfully convened in Sukkhur, marking the formal initiation of a strategically significant aviation infrastructure project.

The project is being undertaken by the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) in collaboration with an international–local joint venture led by M/s M2P Consulting GmbH (Germany) as Lead Consultant, in association with M/s Leit-Werk Limited (United Kingdom) as Foreign Expert, and supported by local partners M/s Indus Associated Consultants (Lahore) and M/s Cosmic Engineering Consultants (Islamabad).

The meeting was chaired by Director General PAA, Air Vice Marshal Zeeshan Saeed, and attended by the senior leadership, including Deputy DG (Works & Development) Sumair Saeed, Director Planning & Development Ghulam Abbas Sheikh, and other officers. Representatives from government departments, regional administration, business community, and key aviation stakeholders also participated. Discussions were held with the business community and local administration, who expressed strong support for the project. A consultative process was undertaken to ensure alignment with regional needs and expectations. During the session, the consultants presented a detailed work plan covering feasibility assessment, master planning, and design development. This was followed by an interactive discussion enabling stakeholder input and alignment with development priorities. The proposed Greenfield Airport at Sukkhur is envisioned to enhance regional connectivity, facilitate trade and investment, and promote tourism and economic growth across upper Sindh and adjoining regions.

The meeting marks a key milestone towards the development of a modern, efficient, and sustainable aviation facility in Sukkur.
