The PSO leadership position became vacant following Taha Ahmed’s resignation, as he transitions to assume the role of CEO at K-Electric.
Karachi: According to a statement issued by Pakistan State Oil, the company’s Board of Directors has appointed Jawad Ahmed Cheema as the new Chief Executive Officer. He will assume charge of his position from May 18. Jawad Ahmed has been appointed for a term of three years.
Jawad Ahmed brings over 28 years of professional experience in the energy sector. He has previously served as the CEO of Shell Pakistan. He also worked at Shell International as Vice President for Strategy and Portfolio. Over the course of his career, he has held key positions across Asia, Europe, and other regions. Currently, he is also serving as the CEO of Karachi Hydrocarbon Terminal.
Earlier, in March, the Board of K-Electric appointed PSO’s CEO Taha Ahmed as its Chief Executive Officer. He will take charge of his position on April 15. During the interim period, PSO’s Board had appointed Abdul Sami as the acting Chief Executive Officer.
